Arson attack on London volunteer ambulances being treated as antisemitic hate crime, police say

Met says four vehicles from Jewish community ambulance service damaged in suspected arson attack in Golders Green

Four ambulances belonging to the Jewish community ambulance service have been set on fire in Golders Green, north London, with police saying they were treating the incident as an “antisemitic hate crime”.

The prime minister, Keir Starmer, denounced it as a shocking attack on London’s Jewish community, while the city’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, called it cowardly. Mark Gardner, from the Community Security Trust, a charity that monitors antisemitism and provides security for the UK Jewish community, said it was an attack on Jews as well as an attack on the whole of society.
